Les événements et actions d'engagement social ou sociopolitiques, en particulier les actions en défense de droits, ne sont pratiquement jamais annoncés dans les médias en tout genre. De plus, les médias alternatifs et communautaires n'arrivent pas non plus à suivre le flot et à les publier en continue. C'est la raison pour laquelle ce média existe depuis 2002 avec l'appui officiel d'environ 40 groupes et regroupements, généralement membres du Réseau du Forum social de Québec Chaudière-Appalaches. L'idée est née quand les webmestres de la Coalition Opération Québec Printemps 2001 produisaient un agenda unitaire pour les 35 organismes membres.

C'est un outil très pratique pour les personnes voulant découvrir divers sujets et enjeux, pour celles qui estiment que la démocratie ne se résume pas à un vote aux quatre années, mais aussi pour aider les organismes à mieux se coordonner et coopérer.
