babble is rabble.ca's discussion board but it's much more than that: it's an online community for folks who just won't shut up. It's a place to tell each other — and the world — what's up with our work and campaigns.

So is it really necessary to make an ad for this pop up EVERY time I click ANY babble link?  Would ten or so times be sufficient?

Alternatively, if I complete the survey, will it stop?  I'm a 92 year old Syrian refugee living in a polygamous marriage on Baffin Island and my household income is $400,000-$1,000,000 per year... OK?

Answered the survey. Still being bombarded by the pop-up. Don't bother closing it. If you leave it open but click on your page it goes into the background and comes forward again when you change pages. At least you don't have to bother with closing it.

The survey did not mention trade deals or income inequality as issues.

I get no pop-ups. And I don't ad-block this site either. I feel cheated.

It's a management conspiracy, Unionist.

Whoops! Just checked more thoroughly, and while I don't block ads, I do block pop-ups. So count that up to unionist error.

But after reading this thread, I think I'll just carry on blocking them.

Pop-up blockers are a necessary tool for visiting rabble. I've rarely seen a site with such persistent pop-ups.

I've been cursing this pop-up for days, and I work here. I have been told it has been fixed -- but seriously, do the survey! You can't all be from Baffin Island.

EDIT: Oh, and because you don't see the pop-up anymore... the link to it is here.

You're welcome.

Hey Mr Magoo - the pop up appearing with every page view was a mistake... Corrected! Sorry about that.

No biggie.

But that one programmer's been fired, right? ;)

No, but we have reduced his bean ration to a half-can per week.

I did fill it out. I don't live in Nunavut; I live in Montréal. I know these surveys are mostly for advertising, but want rabble to be able to get ads if they want, as long as they aren't grossly inappropriate. I'm glad they included "lives with pets".
