It is true that I said to Art that while once the majority of people here were NDP supporters or those further left, now the majority of posts are from Liberals. A thread about the NDP might have 80% posts from self-declared Liberal/Trudeau fans not discussing so much as advocating their brand. This is not why I left but it made it easier. At the time I left, there were even some productive exchanges between myself and Pondering. Terry Towel and I seemed to be up and down but I never asked that he go.

read more
http://rabble-6.rabble.ca/babble/babble-banter/people-discussing-why-i-left#comments babble banter Mon, 21 Mar 2016 18:49:48 +0000 Sean in Ottawa 123596 at http://rabble-6.rabble.ca A few historical insults http://rabble-6.rabble.ca/babble/babble-banter/few-historical-insults
The Oxford words blog can be fun, and repurposing some of these old insults might come in useful, in Parliament, for one thing, though it would be hell for the interpreters:

http://blog.oxforddictionaries.com/2016/02/historical-insults/

You grobian mafflard!
http://rabble-6.rabble.ca/babble/babble-banter/few-historical-insults#comments babble banter Wed, 17 Feb 2016 22:51:15 +0000 lagatta 123056 at http://rabble-6.rabble.ca "Je suis circumflex" http://rabble-6.rabble.ca/babble/babble-banter/je-suis-circumflex
^
http://rabble-6.rabble.ca/babble/babble-banter/je-suis-circumflex#comments babble banter Mon, 08 Feb 2016 03:01:28 +0000 swallow 122898 at http://rabble-6.rabble.ca Spell Check in Babble Post (it is possible) http://rabble-6.rabble.ca/babble/babble-banter/spell-check-babble-post-it-possible
;
http://rabble-6.rabble.ca/babble/babble-banter/spell-check-babble-post-it-possible#comments babble banter CommonCauses Technology Sun, 31 Jan 2016 18:06:16 +0000 mark_alfred 122770 at http://rabble-6.rabble.ca Babble banter which requires moderator attention soon! http://rabble-6.rabble.ca/babble/babble-banter/babble-banter-which-requires-moderator-attention-soon-0
The personal attacks by several parties on the most popular threads has gotten to the point at which it has become very distracting. Hope it will be mild this year, as they predict (hope?) But it is good to remember that some festivals we may have reason to hate because of the schlock, mindless overconsumption (or exclusion from any consumption) or interpersonal dynamics have their roots in the natural world. The Summer Solstice is now Aboriginal Peoples' Day, and la Fête nationale du Québec was "La St-Jean", which had its roots in this celebration. Both Solstices involve lights and fire, and gatherings of family and friends (and frenemies, and the family equivalent)... Food and Drink (sometimes too much)... song, stories, defying the terrors nature held for people in earlier times.

read more
http://rabble-6.rabble.ca/babble/babble-banter/i-love-solstice#comments babble banter Mon, 14 Dec 2015 15:56:37 +0000 lagatta 122077 at http://rabble-6.rabble.ca
