Sue Birge has spent many years working in the government and not-for-profit sectors. In addition to senior staff positions at the National Action Committee on the Status of Women and the Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture, Sue was a senior political adviser to NDP governments in Ontario and British Columbia. She has served on several boards, including Canadian Women's Press in Toronto, the Victoria Cool Aid/Streetlink Shelter Society, and recently completed a nine-year term on the Greenpeace Canada board, including three as board Chair. Sue is currently a Director at the Responsible Gambling Council, an NGO that delivers programming and conducts research on the prevention of problem gambling. She lives in Toronto.
