There is no rest for the wicked -- and there is even less rest for the allegedly wicked who find themselves on the wrong end of a lawsuit from the largest telecommunications company in Canada.

Throw in the Internet, a fading broadcasting model, two federal statutes, and a counter lawsuit, and watch the midnight oil market boom -- all thanks to a small start-up Internet and cable provider, VMedia, in its current battle against TV behemoth Bell Media Inc.

OpenMedia, with the support of over 42,000 Canadians, yesterday put on the public record our view of what the Internet can, and should, look like in Canada.

Canada's Parliament is back in session after a long winter break, and MPs have no shortage of pressing digital rights issues to come to grips with.

It's now just over three months since the Liberals, led by Justin Trudeau, swept into power. Although Trudeau reconvened MPs for a brief session in early December, today marks the start of the first substantial term of our 42nd Parliament.
