Citizen science has exploded in the last few years, thanks to smartphones that, with the right apps, can become powerful scientific instruments. And, thanks to the Internet, that's connected citizen scientists and their data to the scientists who collect, analyze and share the results -- in scholarly journals and online.
A special seven-part series by the Western University Citizen Science Project is investigating the basics of the citizen science movement, the important questions and concerns in the field as well as discovering what lies ahead. Through text, videos, maps, audio, and infographics we'll be providing in-depth coverage as well as analysis of the movement.
