The Truth About Racism

When I was young, living in the UK, I had a very good friend, who was a Pakistani. He loved the people and said they were the most wonderful people on earth because they treated him so well.

After he had been living in the country for 10 years, he came to me one day in tears.

"I am leaving and going back to Pakistan." He said.

"Why would you do that when you have been so happy here for so many years?" I asked.

"Today, a lady spat in my face and called me a filthy Paki."

"So what? I have been called a lot worse."

"I have noticed a fundamnetal change in the way people treat me. They were always friendly and now they look at me with hatred in their eyes."

"Why do you think that has transpired?"
