Canada has finally started to reverse the Conservative government's deplorable refugee policies. As of last month 26,000 Syrian refugees have been resettled in Canada and the Liberal government has restored funding for refugee health care on April 1, 2016. rabble.ca's Activist Toolkit and the Constructing Change podcast took to the phones to find out what these changes mean on the ground and to find out what else refugees will need in the years to come.

WoodGreen Community Services (WoodGreen) is one of the largest social service agencies in Toronto. A founding United Way of Toronto member agency, WoodGreen has grown to span 36 locations and serves 37,000 people each year. WoodGreen helps people find safe, affordable housing, seniors live independently, internationally trained professionals enter the job market, parents access child care, children and youth access after-school programs, newcomers settle in to Canadian life, homeless and marginalized people get off the streets and youth find meaningful employment and training.
