Sears destroys unsold merchandise
A woman in Joliette, a town northeast of Montréal, found hundreds of garments that seem to have been deliberately slashed before they were discarded in the refuse bins of the local Sears store. Other chains in Québec, including Yellow, Garage and Reitmans, have also been found committing such deeds.
By the way, none of these chains are particularly "prestigious" or "high-end". On the contrary.
This is shocking and should be illegal. It is environmentally wasteful and deprives people who need clothing of wearable garments.
