Hell hath surely frozen over:

Guilty as charged

Quote:

A judge has found a Toronto police officer guilty of assaulting a protester with a weapon at the city’s G20 summit three years ago.

Protester Adam Nobody clapped as the verdict was read, while another officer in the courtroom let out a loud sigh. [...]

Outside court, Nobody said he was surprised at the verdict.

“I was, yes... we live in a system we all know that cops get off all the time, so yes, I can honestly say that I was.”

Moi aussi.

Pending appeal.

Two things. First the comments section is closed for "legal reasons." Secondly does anyone know if he will remain on full pay while he appeals the decision?

A great day for justice.

And FYI, the Liberal govt of Ontario has not rescinded that outdated regulation from years ago that people can be arrested if they are within a certain proximity to a fence.

So  among the 14 cops who were involved, the only one with an immigrant background was found guilty and made an example of. Great day for justice.

I was thinking the same thing, and wondering what the verdit would be if the roles were reversed.
