Is the Ukraine thread closed? Im unable to do anything but add meaningless remarks. [yes, all of my remarks are meaningless to some. But that is a different issue. ] When I try to add new material, or edit same, I get ... nothing.

OK, problem seems to be solved. Dunno what happened ... I've seen where other babblers post and re-post a single entry, heck I've done it myself, but this was weird.

Problem has returned: many of my posts appear normal but when I try to post them ... they are blank. This has been going on for some time now.

I guess the Empire is angered at my posts. Or something.

Since I don't believe in a personal deity, can I call GOD a jerk without running foul of the babble ban on personal attacks?

i'm flattered by the attention.

Quote:
Sing in me Muse,

and through me tell the tale of that man skilled in all ways of contending,

the wanderer, harried for years on  end after he plundered the proud heights of Troy.

He saw the townlands

and learned the minds of  many distant men,

and weather many bitter nights and days

in his deep heart at sea, while he fought only

to save his life, TO BRING HIS SHIPMATES HOME ...

Flattered, but undaunted, I've faced worse and come through victorious ...

Why would the Russian Empire block you posts? You are their best (paid) man they have posting on the forums here since Fidel was banned.

Funny, like mighty Hector praying for divine intercession, I lifted up mine eyes to the heavens and pleaded for providence to "Spare, Oh spare me" when I read that too.

Hopefully the bombast isn't catching.

Good luck with your computer problem.

Must be nice to have ready access to the CSE surveillance database.

Um. Joke.

I think that is at least the third time it has been mentioned, including by ikosmos. None of us has high tech devices (clearly) just conspiratorial wit.

6079_Smith_W will now post, saying my previous comment was a joke and that it has been made before. He will deny conspiracies and high-tech surveillance.

ETA: Whoops, cross-posted!

Seriously, U?

I don't like accusations of people being paid trolls either, but a few of us, including ikosmos, have made that glitch  joke already. None of us has that hardware. But no comment when we were joking at the expense of NATO.

You think Obomba did it?

/joke

at least I don't have to haul out the thesaurus for this bit.

Must be nice to have ready access to the CSE surveillance database. Government work has too many rules and regulations.

CSE are amateurs, the best database are in the private sector.

Come to think of it, I wasn't aware we had such an international man of mystery posting here on our little site. this should really be mentioned in the fundraising campaign.

Oh yes, all my comments in this thread have been deadly serious.

I probably should have disclosed this long ago. You may not realize that my pay scale provides $0.00 for every post I make that contains a joke in it, and 50% reduction if (just quoting my contract):

Quote:
"... any comment or portion thereof could reasonably be interpreted by a verifiably non-partisan observer as containing any element, however apparently insignificant, of irony, sarcasm, humour, teasing, or ribbing, without in any way purporting to limit the generality of the foregoing."

With the cost of living being what it is these days, I literally can't afford to kid around. And that's no joke.

Now if you want to talk about Canadian union databases, the information they have gathered over the years on individuals is quiet impressive.

Note to self: Use stronger encryption on union database password.

As you know the really good material is all kept in paper format. no need for passwords or encryption systems.

more today ...

Just to be clear: if I try to edit the (blank) post, the entry appears normal and complete. But the preview feature, and any attempt to post that particular entry, shows nothing. This is the same as last time, 2 years ago.

I can post this entry, so it's not a blanket sort of problem. Just certain posts.

"Very interesting," Artie Johnson used to say, as he appeared, cigarette in mouth, German army helmet on head, pushing the large leaves apart, ...

More of the same [blank posts] over here in the US coup d'etat thread.

Nothing.

More nothing.
