It's our final day covering the World Social Forum and we are topping our week off with coverage of climate change and the environment. This episode focuses on a conference titled "The Leap Manifesto: A Conversation." The panel included Ellen Gabriel, Maude Barlow, Naomi Klein, Avi Lewis, Bianca Mugyenyi, and Mike Palacek, who discussed an intersectional approach to climate change.
On today's show:
1. First up is Ellen Gabriel, a Mohawk activist and artist. Ellen welcomed us to Kanehsatake territory and discussed ways in which the Leap can take its lead from Indigenous communities.
2. Next, we spoke with Bianca Mugyenyi, the Leap Manifesto Outreach Lead, about how the Leap will ramp up to inspire citizens across the world to get active!
3. We met with Avi Lewis. During the Q&A session, he invited the audience to critique the Leap movement, so we asked him what he thought of the audience's feedback.
4. Our dynamic and exceptional World Social Forum rabble podcast team share what they learned from the week.
Goodbyes from: Sophia Reuss, Campbell McClintock, Victoria Fenner (executive producer) and David Kattenburg
Thanks for tuning in this week!
