We sometimes take for granted, just how easy it is for well-meaning people to work in silos.

But, by the same token, we must also appreciate that sometimes movements must take time to find their voice, to understand their motivations and to articulate their demands.

Land's End, there is no need to apologize!

By Mindy Kittay, taken November 3, 2008, labeled for reuse, Gloria Steinem

Land's End recently featured an interview of Gloria Steinem by their new CEO, Frederica Marchionni, in their catalog.  The interview was the first in a series called Legends, interviews with people who made a huge impact on their industries and areas of concern.  Legends is also part of an effort by the Wisconsin based retailer to make Land's End appeal to a new generation of consumers.

Can we end rape as tool of war?

Gloria Steinem and Lauren Wolfe:

Quote:
Sexualized violence may be the only form of violence in which the victim is blamed or is even said to have invited it. In war, rape shames women, men, children, entire societies. The stigma imposed on all who are touched by this violence makes this weapon incredibly effective as a means of destroying the enemy.
